LOCATION:
Blandford Forum, Dorset
DATE DESIGNED:
2006
THE GARDEN BEFORE:
The rear garden of this house rose steeply to a height of 4m above ground
level. Full of weeds and overgrown shrubs this plot was completely unusable
and provided a less than attractive outlook from the living rooms of the
house.
THE GARDEN
AFTER:
By terracing the plot this immediately gave this
narrow, steep garden depth and provided usable areas. Focal points such
as the urn with it's soothing water cascades were lined up to the living
areas of the house, providing tantalising glimpses of the garden. Wide
steps became an inviting feature beckoning you to explore the garden further.
Using construcion materials and a colour scheme similar to the house linked
the garden with the home seemlessly.
