THE GARDEN BEFORE:
A tatty
lawn and an abundance of weeds 6' high and more, this garden did not have
a lot going for it! So inhospitable was it that photographs of the neighbouring
garden, which was of idential size was supplied. However what it lacked
in style it made up for in space and provided the perfect canvas for a
new garden design.
THE GARDEN
AFTER:
Many comittments meant holidays for the clients
were a distant memory. The garden had to therefore provide the missing
respite from work etc. Strong, hardy architectural plants such as yuccas,
phormiums and grasses provide a very unbritish feel. Keen on entertaining
it also had to have enough space for visitors, whatever the weather. A
timber hideout at the end of the garden provides a welcoming retreat and
a great vista back to the house. Surrounded by pebble water features,
you could be forgiven for thinking you'd landed on a private beach. |
